Professor of Mindfulness and Psychological Science at the University of Oxford, Willem Kuyken researches how psychological approaches prevent depression. He led the multi-institution MYRIAD cluster randomised controlled trial with Cambridge, UCL, Exeter and King's College London, evaluating the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of universal school-based mindfulness training for adolescent mental health.
Professor of Applied Statistics at Oxford, Christl Donnelly applies statistical epidemiology to infectious disease outbreaks. As part of the multi-institution REACT-1 collaboration with Imperial College London she analysed community swab surveillance across England, detecting the resurgence of SARS-CoV-2 in real time and informing national decisions on pandemic interventions.

Waynflete Professor of Chemistry at Oxford, Veronique Gouverneur pioneers sustainable fluorine chemistry. Working with collaborators at UCL and Colorado State University, her team converted fluorspar directly into a solid fluorinating reagent through a phosphate enabled mechanochemical process, bypassing hazardous hydrogen fluoride and opening safer routes to pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and battery fluorochemicals.
