Professor and Lieberman-Okinow Endowed Chair of Cereal Disease Resistance, Department of Plant Pathology

Steffenson holds Minnesota's endowed chair in cereal disease resistance and co-directs the Stakman-Borlaug Center for Sustainable Plant Health. He assembles global collections of wild wheat and barley relatives, mining them for rust and blight resistance genes with collaborators on five continents, work that protects staple grain harvests from emerging pathogens.

Fair, a MacArthur Fellow, co-directs the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain and maps how children's brain networks develop using resting state imaging. His landmark multi-site analysis showing that brain-wide association studies need thousands of participants reset methodological standards for neuroimaging consortia studying attention, autism and mental health worldwide.
