Andre V. Ritter
Ritter leads one of the top ranked dental schools in the world and is a leading authority on cariology and restorative dentistry. Lead editor of the standard textbook Sturdevant's Art and Science of Operative Dentistry, he champions evidence based, minimally invasive care and international education partnerships spanning the Americas and Asia.
Marion Pepper
Pepper studies how CD4 T cells and B cells form immunological memory against malaria, allergens and SARS-CoV-2, work that showed how hybrid immunity shapes vaccine responses. She chairs UW Immunology and is scientific co-director of the Seattle Hub for Synthetic Biology, a collaboration with the Allen Institute.
Jay Shendure
A Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator, Shendure pioneered exome sequencing and cell free DNA diagnostics that transformed prenatal testing worldwide. He directs the Brotman Baty Institute, uniting UW Medicine, Fred Hutch and Seattle Children's, and his lab's single cell atlases map mammalian development for the global genomics community.
