Paul S. F. YipSubject Award Winner 2026
Professor Yip directs the HKJC Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention at the University of Hong Kong. He co-authored the Lancet Psychiatry interrupted time series analysis of preliminary suicide data from 21 countries, which found no evidence of an early pandemic rise in suicide numbers and informed international prevention policy.

With co-authors at the University of Toronto and Emory University, his Service Science paper tests whether customer arrival rates can be modelled by sine waves, guiding demand forecasting and staffing in service systems.
