Sylvestre Maurice
Maurice is an astronomer at IRAP and principal investigator of SuperCam on NASA's Perseverance rover, following ChemCam on Curiosity. His instruments, built with CNES, Los Alamos and international partners, analyse Martian rocks by laser and even recorded the first sounds on Mars, deepening the search for past habitability.
Etienne Berthier
Berthier uses satellite imagery to measure glacier change worldwide, co-authoring community estimates showing glaciers losing mass at accelerating rates and driving sea level rise. A CNRS research director at LEGOS in Toulouse, he works with international consortia and space agencies to turn Earth observation into climate evidence for policy.
Olivier Berné
Berné co-leads PDRs4All, one of the first James Webb Space Telescope Early Release Science programmes, uniting more than one hundred scientists worldwide to study the Orion Nebula. His team detected the methyl cation in a protoplanetary disk, illuminating the carbon chemistry that precedes planet and life formation.
