Professor Paul Coulthard
Coulthard led Queen Mary's Institute of Dentistry into the world top 20 as Dean for Dentistry. An oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he has shaped NHS England commissioning of oral surgery and sedation services, and built teaching and research partnerships with Harvard, Sichuan and Manipal dental schools.
Professor Sir Mark Caulfield
Knighted for leading the 100,000 Genomes Project as Chief Scientist of Genomics England, Caulfield embedded whole genome sequencing in the NHS. His hypertension genetics discoveries span international consortia, and as CEO of Barts Life Sciences he drives a major research partnership between Queen Mary and Barts Health NHS Trust.
Professor Chloe Orkin
Orkin played a seminal role in developing the first long-acting injectable HIV treatment and led globally reported research on mpox. Her multi-country trials and equity-driven SHARE Collaborative have changed international treatment guidelines, and she was appointed MBE in 2024 for services to medicine.
