Tsai directs the Picower Institute and studies the cellular basis of Alzheimer's disease, including APOE4 effects on myelin and microglia. Her laboratory developed gamma frequency light and sound stimulation that clears amyloid in mice, a finding now being tested in human clinical trials through academic and industry collaborations.
