Dewulf is a leading voice on farm biosecurity and reducing antimicrobial use in livestock. His Biocheck.UGent scoring system is applied on farms worldwide, and he edits Belgium's national report on veterinary antimicrobial consumption, shaping European action against antimicrobial resistance through the One Health approach.
De Saeger is a world authority on mycotoxins, the fungal toxins that contaminate food and threaten health across the globe. She directs Ghent's Centre of Excellence in Mycotoxicology and Public Health and founded MYTOX-SOUTH, an international network building food safety capacity with partners across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
De Smedt founded the Ghent Research Group on Nanomedicines and served for many years as editor in chief of the Journal of Controlled Release.
