The standing rests on the open scholarly record: 3,104 co-authored works in the field over 2021 to 2025, built with 746 collaborating institutions across 70 countries, with a field-weighted citation impact of 5.48.

University of Edinburgh holds Platinum standing overall, at #9 in the world.
