Vrije Universiteit Brussel's research now spans 80 countries

Research at Vrije Universiteit Brussel is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,068 institutions in 80 countries, and international collaborators appear on 52% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Ghent University in Belgium, at 1,820 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 25,009 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
