Research at Virginia Tech is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,124 institutions in 78 countries, and international collaborators appear on 26% of its output.
Its largest single research relationship is with University of Maryland, College Park in United States, at 1,416 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 40,648 co-authored works.
Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
