Utrecht University stands at #7 of 1,195 universities worldwide on the Environmental Science collaboration index, the strongest of its 26 subject standings in the 2026 Research Collaboration Index, published today.

The standing rests on the open scholarly record: 3,625 co-authored works in the field over 2021 to 2025, built with 850 collaborating institutions across 73 countries, with a field-weighted citation impact of 4.3.

Utrecht University holds Platinum standing overall, at #58 in the world.
