UNSW Sydney's research now spans 79 countries

Research at UNSW Sydney is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,181 institutions in 79 countries, and international collaborators appear on 48% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with The University of Sydney in Australia, at 10,822 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 79,401 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.

The Research Collaboration Index, the first global account of how universities actually collaborate, publishes its first full edition on Tuesday 15 September at 09:00 UK.
