University of Waterloo stands at #26 of 1,195 universities worldwide on the Computer Science collaboration index, the strongest of its 26 subject standings in the 2026 Research Collaboration Index, published today.

The standing rests on the open scholarly record: 3,679 co-authored works in the field over 2021 to 2025, built with 666 collaborating institutions across 63 countries, with a field-weighted citation impact of 2.83.

University of Waterloo holds Gold standing overall, at #159 in the world.
