Research at University of Salzburg is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 787 institutions in 73 countries, and international collaborators appear on 49% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with University of Vienna in Austria, at 196 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 8,717 co-authored works.
