Research at University of Notre Dame is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,043 institutions in 78 countries, and international collaborators appear on 33% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Indiana University in United States, at 358 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 20,643 co-authored works.
