University of Milan's research now spans 80 countries

Research at University of Milan is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,104 institutions in 80 countries, and international collaborators appear on 38% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with University of Milano-Bicocca in Italy, at 2,911 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 211,195 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
