Research at University of Mannheim is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 715 institutions in 61 countries, and international collaborators appear on 38% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Heidelberg University in Germany, at 1,302 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 8,369 co-authored works.
