University of Manchester stands at #4 of 1,195 universities worldwide on the Chemistry collaboration index, the strongest of its 26 subject standings in the 2026 Research Collaboration Index, published today.

The standing rests on the open scholarly record: 1,065 co-authored works in the field over 2021 to 2025, built with 472 collaborating institutions across 58 countries, with a field-weighted citation impact of 2.44.

University of Manchester holds Platinum standing overall, at #24 in the world.
