University of Hong Kong stands at #1 of 1,195 universities worldwide on the Social Sciences collaboration index, the strongest of its 26 subject standings in the 2026 Research Collaboration Index, published today.

The standing rests on the open scholarly record: 4,649 co-authored works in the field over 2021 to 2025, built with 746 collaborating institutions across 68 countries, with a field-weighted citation impact of 7.2.

University of Hong Kong holds Platinum standing overall, at #1 in the world.
