Research at University of British Columbia is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,173 institutions in 81 countries, and international collaborators appear on 48% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with University of Toronto in Canada, at 6,570 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 93,935 co-authored works.
