University of Auckland's research now spans 79 countries

Research at University of Auckland is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,156 institutions in 79 countries, and international collaborators appear on 52% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with University of Otago in New Zealand, at 3,501 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 42,110 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
