University of Antwerp's research now spans 81 countries

Research at University of Antwerp is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,082 institutions in 81 countries, and international collaborators appear on 55% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with KU Leuven in Belgium, at 2,474 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 29,419 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
