University of Alberta's research now spans 79 countries

Research at University of Alberta is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,165 institutions in 79 countries, and international collaborators appear on 46% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with University of Calgary in Canada, at 4,967 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 64,488 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
