Research at Universität Ulm is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 958 institutions in 77 countries, and international collaborators appear on 43% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Heidelberg University in Germany, at 971 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 17,204 co-authored works.
