Research at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,056 institutions in 77 countries, and international collaborators appear on 45% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Universitat de Barcelona in Spain, at 1,345 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 27,733 co-authored works.
