Research at Universität Innsbruck is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,038 institutions in 75 countries, and international collaborators appear on 56% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Innsbruck Medical University in Austria, at 5,343 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 36,120 co-authored works.
