Research at Universitat de Barcelona is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,144 institutions in 80 countries, and international collaborators appear on 44% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain, at 4,692 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 59,168 co-authored works.
