UCLouvain's research now spans 80 countries

Research at UCLouvain is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,104 institutions in 80 countries, and international collaborators appear on 52% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with KU Leuven in Belgium, at 1,194 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 23,300 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.

The Research Collaboration Index, the first global account of how universities actually collaborate, publishes its first full edition on Tuesday 15 September at 09:00 UK.
