The University of Melbourne's research now spans 80 countries

Research at The University of Melbourne is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,185 institutions in 80 countries, and international collaborators appear on 47% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Monash University in Australia, at 12,677 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 107,719 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
