Ruhr University Bochum's research now spans 78 countries

Research at Ruhr University Bochum is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,070 institutions in 78 countries, and international collaborators appear on 40% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, at 1,057 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 31,700 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
