Research at Queen's University Belfast is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,134 institutions in 81 countries, and international collaborators appear on 54% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with University of Ulster in United Kingdom, at 1,236 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 27,820 co-authored works.
