Research at National University of Malaysia is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,031 institutions in 78 countries, and international collaborators appear on 28% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia, at 2,019 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 36,355 co-authored works.
