Leipzig University's research now spans 79 countries

Research at Leipzig University is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,042 institutions in 79 countries, and international collaborators appear on 40% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Technische Universität Dresden in Germany, at 1,256 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 48,974 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
