Harvard University's research now spans 81 countries

Research at Harvard University is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,184 institutions in 81 countries, and international collaborators appear on 41% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Center for Astrophysics Harvard & Smithsonian in United States, at 19,297 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 169,606 co-authored works.

Connectivity of this kind is increasingly the currency of modern science, and it is measurable: the open scholarly record makes every one of these relationships public and checkable.
