Research at École Polytechnique is a global undertaking: the university co-authors with 1,009 institutions in 76 countries, and international collaborators appear on 47% of its output.

Its largest single research relationship is with Sorbonne Université in France, at 3,813 joint works. Across the network, five-year output reaches 13,427 co-authored works.
