The WARRaNT project will enhance the dependability, safety, security, and resilience of Waterborne Digital Systems (WDS) and Safe, Secure, and Resilient Operations of Digitalized Ships (SRODS). Leveraging advanced methodologies, the project integrates hazard and risk management with human factors, cybersecurity, and resilience across all ship subsystems and interactions with infrastructure. WARRaNT employs Digital Twin technologies and Knowledge Graphs (KG) to support continuous monitoring, fault simulation, and testing, enabling real-time, predictive maintenance and decision-making. The project also focuses on transferring best practices from other safety-critical industries, such as aerospace and automotive, to the maritime sector. The methodology will be validated and refined through Living Labs, which serve as experimental environments designed to ensure the methodology meets real-world operational needs. To this end, WARRaNT establishes four distinct Living Labs, each focused on a specific aspect of enhancing system reliability: LL1 targets dependable containership digital systems, LL2 focuses on robust smart container-ship connectivity, LL3 addresses resilient automation systems for autonomous green vessels, and LL4 concentrates on the enhanced dependability of remote operation systems. WARRaNT also emphasizes industry adoption by providing tools and a Knowledge Platform for stakeholders, promoting standardization and the secure, federated sharing of data and models. This comprehensive approach positions WARRaNT as a key enabler for the future of autonomous, green, and resilient maritime operations.
