THRIVE · Training for High-Impact Resilience, Innovation, Versatility, and Excellence
THRIVE (Training for High-Impact Resilience, Innovation, Versatility, and Excellence) responds to the urgent need for skilled, mobile, and future-ready technical staff in Research Infrastructures (RIs). As the operational and technological complexity of RIs increases, THRIVE provides a structured, sustainable framework for continuous professional development of RI staff through harmonized training, mentoring, and mobility schemes.THRIVE significantly supports the excellence and long-term sustainability of Euro-BioImaging ERIC and the European imaging community. Through its focus on combined mentoring and staff mobility, THRIVE reinforces collaboration and innovation across the Euro-BioImaging Nodes, increasing skill and knowledge sharing, and enhancing the connectedness of the RI’s technical workforce. The recognition and career development of RI staff will be underpinned by a defined career path model and a core competencies framework for imaging RI staff.Through a training curriculum focused on digital skills, AI, green practices, and operational skills, THRIVE addresses common RI challenges and fosters cross-domain expertise. Training and mobility schemes co-developed with industry ensure alignment with emerging technology and innovation needs, increasing the competitiveness and capacity for innovation of the European imaging community.A central training portal unites the THRIVE training modules with community-developed resources and enhances accessibility of imaging technology and RI operations training. Curating training resources into career-path-specific learning pathways aligns training standards across the RI and promotes recognition of skills across borders and domains.By investing in human capital at the RI – from pre-RI and early career staff to facility leadership – THRIVE directly contributes to the sustainability, capability, and optimisation of the European RI landscape, in full alignment with INFRADEV priorities.
