STEM4STAR · STEM for Science, Technology, Awareness and Researchers
This project seeks to inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation by fostering spatial and STEM literacy among young people and the wider public. It connects science to everyday life, showing how research helps address real challenges and strengthens the relationship between scientists and society. Within the European Researchers’ Night and Researchers at Schools framework, it brings research closer to citizens, highlights the role of researchers, and builds trust in science. Designed for the Ukrainian post-war context, it uses science as a driver of resilience, empowerment, and European integration. To achieve this, the project will blend large-scale public events with practical learning experiences. STEM festivals and mobile outreach formats will showcase the relevance of research, while gamified and interactive activities such as spatial games, cartographic challenges, and mapathons will build digital skills and spatial thinking. Young people will also take part in training, mentorship, and startup competitions, where they will co-create and present innovative solutions to local problems. These initiatives will encourage entrepreneurship, teamwork, and creativity, with youth-led projects supported beyond the project’s lifetime. Partnerships with schools, municipalities, and community actors will deepen engagement, create a strong regional impact, and nurture a new generation of STEM ambassadors.By consolidating efforts under the European Researchers’ Night brand, the project will provide a national platform for inclusive science communication, supported by coordinated campaigns and EU visibility. Through clear objectives, measurable results, and the proven expertise of the consortium, it will reach more than 50,000 people and strengthen the role of science in shaping Ukraine’s European future.
