SOSNIGHT · In science we trust - scientists sound the alarm and show how to save the Earth!

H2020Status: CLOSED1 June 202131 March 2022EU funding €102,885Call H2020-MSCA-NIGHT-2020bis

Within SOSNIGHT project our researchers sound the alarm and will demonstrate how science and scientists can save the planet. We want to show that although the Earth's climatic situation is very difficult, science offers hope to save it. This slogan ""in science we trust"" will be the main motto throughout the entire event. Its objective is to make public at large, and especially young people look at science as a source of strength, opportunities and hope for the future. During the event we will show how each field of science (technical, humanities, natural sciences, health sciences) can be a source of hope for saving the planet. The subject matter of the program will point to the importance of the European Green Deal for Europe and its citizens. See how to live in an eco-friendly manner every day, see what an ideal city of the future should look like, take a look at the plants that feed the world, learn to care for the ecosystem, find out how knowledge about trees can save lives, learn about environmentally friendly technologies. You will find that scientists are ordinary people and their work is truly fascinating. And all this thanks to science presented in a completely playful way (edutainment). The SOSNIGHT project is a continuation of projects from the last fourteen years, nevertheless presenting a lot of new things. Basing on the positive response from public during Researchers' Night in 2020 we want to include in this year's programme in addition to stationary events also online events, which sparked great interest in 2020. A significant advantage of the project will be its flexibility. We are able to modify the program and the way of organizing its events in response to changing situation in the world. Topics of individual Partners have been selected so that they are in keeping with the overall message of the project. We want to show that the work of scientists brings hope for the planet, and it is a lesson that is worth learning from them. ""
