SHERPA · Support on Pre-operational Actions in GNSS
SHERPA proposes a regional collaborative approach in support to European Eastern region countries, towards the implementation of GNSS enabled operations in the civil aviation sector, and in particular enhanced by EGNOS.By the creation of a national team, through a set of technical working groups each regional partner will undertake different pre-operational actions on a selected National scenario, composed by an airport and a potential aircraft operator. The working groups, managed by the ESSP as EGNOS Service Provider, and with the technical support from Pildo Labs as TEN-T Mielec (Poland) activity leader, will guide the States towards the understanding and National scenario accommodation, of the generic guidance material developed by Eurocontrol, in coordination with ICAO, in support to APV procedures implementation. This collaborative approach is aligned with ICAO and Eurocontrol recommendations in support to the implementation of APV procedures: local Stakeholders will undertake pre-operational actions in a regional coordinated manner. The activity shall provide elements to the participant States in mapping the implementation of EGNOS into their national PBN strategy in a coordinated manner with their national Regulatory Authorities.SHERPA represents an important asset in support to the implementation of APV procedures in Europe, by contributing to a common strategy towards the implementation of EGNOS operations in the aviation community.
