Science City Mission · “Science City Mission” - Building the future of young researcher´s through fun creativity and scientific experiments

The world that we live in has been facing strong economic adversities from which countries, such as Portugal have been trying to surpass. It is during these times of crisis that becomes clearer than ever that Governments, Research Centers and Companies must join efforts to find innovative and creative solutions to encourage young people´s interest in science and research and to foster their enthusiasm for science education. It is fundamental to attract and motivate young Europeans to embark into research careers. The “Science City Mission – Building the future of young researcher´s through fun creativity and scientific experiments” aims to enhance the public´s recognition of researchers through fun and educational activities. The Science City Mission aims to be a colorful and entertaining event, full of marvel and excitement that promises to engage the public at large in a game of discovery and wonder in the trails of science and research. The programme of activities was designed to spark the interest for research careers. The thrilling activities foreseen are: the European Corner (exhibiting important information about the European Researcher´s Night Programe & science and research); Performing Shows, Educational Workshops, the “Creative Scientists” Science Cafés and much more exciting experiments and hands-on activities! INOVA+ has a dedicated and experienced team of organizers and benefs from a privileged network of contacts; moreover it constantly in the search for innovative programmes of activities and establishment of synergies with other fellow-RN organizers (e.g. Natural History Museum, London). With an expected number of 20,000 visitors, at least 300 researchers being directly involved and more than 350,000 people from several sectors being aware of the event, the Science City Mission will, for sure be the perfect venue for a night full of surprise and wonder filled with fantastic workshops, amazing performances and entertaining encounters.
