RhythmOfLife · The science of Rhythms in our lives

The primary objective of the RhythmOfLife project is to foster a closer connection between research and the general public, with particular emphasis on engaging families, children, primary and secondary school pupils, teachers, students, and adults, while also focusing on groups with limited access to science, such as seniors, children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, disabled children and adults, and migrants. The RhythmOfLife project explores the science of rhythms in nature and human life through engaging formats such as live experiments, strategic games, immersive experiences, and science shows, making science accessible and relevant to diverse audiences. By showcasing phenomena familiar from everyday life, seasonal changes, lunar cycles, biological rhythms, RhythmOfLife explains the scientific principles behind them and demonstrates how science impacts health, the environment, and society.The project aims to reach up to 900,000 people through a comprehensive Awareness Campaign and attract at least 25,000 participants to Researchers’ Night events across Slovenia in 2026 and 2027. Researchers at Schools activities will directly engage up to 6,700 pupils in kindergartens, primary, and secondary schools. Events will take place across Slovenian regions, not only in major cities, ensuring broad geographic inclusion. Inclusiveness is at the heart of RhythmOfLife, reflected in the design of activities, diversity of participants, and composition of research teams. Vulnerable groups will be actively included, and activities adapted to their needs through cooperation with professionals and caregivers.By promoting scientific literacy and social responsibility, RhythmOfLife contributes to increased public awareness of research and innovation, especially EU-funded research, and its concrete impact on citizens’ daily lives. It raises interest in STEM careers among young people and supports better understanding of EU policies and programmes among the general public.
