Pomeranian Region in Poland is home to 2,2 mln citizens, with its centre of socio-economic gravity concentrated among the seaside Tri-City metropolitan area. It is in this area that one of the largest and most important academic and research hubs in Poland is located, consisting many research institutions including those from top 20 of Polish universities. It is also a workplace for more than 7000 researchers, conducting scientific explorations in almost every field of science. Regional institutions, having a long tradition of conducting scientific research, are very aware of their role in shaping the development of the region and country, contributing to the development of research in Europe and in the world.Pomorska Noc Naukowców (en. Pomeranian Researchers' Night - PRN) organized annually since 2023 is grassroots initiative of the Pomeranian scientific community. This annual event organized on last Friday of September is first of such scale within the region and ensuring that northern Poland has access to this great initiative, especially when other two regional nights are organised in the south of our 38 mln people country. In the project “Pomeranian Researchers Night: Researchers for resilient and safe Europe (Research4Resilience)” the common denominator of main activities addressed to the public will be will gathered around the ability of science to strengthen resilience of Europe in the rapidly changing world. Engaged researchers and all partner institutions will aim at showing that science is awake and ready to face important european challenges such as digital future, multidimensional security and crisis preparedness. Main motto of Researchers Night and Researchers at Schools events in Pomerania will be “science is awake and ready to face the challenges of rapidly changing world”
