READMODE · REliability and risk Assessment of flexible MOdular structures with vibration control DEvices in multi-hazard environments

Development of sustainable and resilience infrastructure is very important because particularly in Europe, building structures are accountable for materials extraction, CO2 emissions, and energy consumption. The decline of residential building impacts is one of the crucial goals identified by the European Union (EU) to meet the Paris goals and move forward for circular economy. Therefore, REliability and risk Assessment of flexible MOdular structures with vibration control DEvices in multi-hazard environments (READMODE) project proposes an innovative approach to analyze the reliability and risk of modular structures. In this project, a probabilistic approach is considered to increase the accuracy of structural reliability and risk assessment. It contains the development of improved mathematical models for the reliable and resilient infrastructures. Also, a detailed novel solution will be given for enhancement of resiliency in the modular buildings. The output of this research will provide cost-effective and time-saving techniques for resilience improvement. The fellowship will lead to closer cooperation and knowledge transfer between researchers at host and between different sectors. The research findings specifically, and my personal enhanced competencies generally, will lay the groundwork for future theoretical study in resilient infrastructures. Most European countries are already developed and contain many existing structures and infrastructures that need to be resilience. This will prepare authorities for potential changes in design approach and calculations for future projects and will have significant impact on understanding the risks and safe design of resilient infrastructures.
