RAMP-UP · Regenerative Medicine and Advanced Medicinal Therapeutic Products United for PhD excellence
The RAMP-UP program (Regenerative Medicine and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products - United for PhD Excellence) is an international doctoral program initiative by Lund University (LU), Sweden, and three implementing partners: Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), Netherlands; Technical University of Denmark (DTU); and Hannover Medical School (MHH), Germany. The aim is to create a high-quality international and interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme (DP), supported by about 30 associated partners, composed of leading companies, regulatory and health agencies representing the whole value chain of regenerative medicine and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) research. The objectives of RAMP-UP are to:(i) Establish a collaborative, innovative, interdisciplinary, and united DP in regenerative medicine and ATMPs to train skilled professionals across the entire value chain of ATMPs.(ii) Create a European ATMP ecosystem for education in which academia, health care, regulatory agencies, and industry sectors come together to secure a leading international position in the field to the benefit of society.(iii) Propel the implementation and patient access to ATMPs in Europe, bridging the gap from bench to clinic. This program comprises 55 Doctoral Fellows (DF) and represents a total budget of more than 32.5 M€, of which 75% is covered by the RAMP-UP partners, enabling the acceleration of advanced therapies from the bench to patients.
