R-NOZZLE · Rotating nozzle

FP7Status: SIGNED15 February 201314 November 2016EU funding €1,499,910

The Project R-NOZZLE is aimed to find out a way to produce 360º components for aircraft engines by combination of near-net-shape rolled ring process, plus machining. In particular the design and manufacturing of rotating exhaust nozzle of the CROR is targeted. The materials to be used for this development will be Inconel718 and Titanium Alloy. Thus the project will look for a cost effective way of producing conical cylindrical components of about 1 m. diameter in these alloys. The project will include the design and will look to verify compliance with certification requirements of design and process. The aim is to get a cost effective way of manufacturing, complex shapes part of aeroengines.
