PURE NIGHT · Poland and Universe, Research and Entertainment Night""

FP7Status: CLOSED1 May 201330 November 2013EU funding €35,000

The main aims of the Researchers’ Night are: dissemination of science, researcher’s career and bringing researchers closer to people (through informational, educational and artistic activities). We intend to open the secluded researchers' society, making the scientists meet the events participants “face to face” and let the people visit laboratories, archives, university radio and other places usually unavailable to the public. Due to various interactive forms of communication, around 20,000 inhabitants of Olsztyn, the region and Poland will directly benefit from the project. During the Night there will be a series of educational experiments, a research-awareness campaign, astronomical presentations, exhibitions, quizzes, workshops, a field game and lectures, all connected with the main issue of this year Researchers’ Night i.e. the night and phenomena associated with it: darkness, sleep etc. There will be events for everybody regardless of age, sex and profession. A European aspect of the events will be present in competitions and in 3 European corners. Some events (e.g. a concert, 5D cinema shows) are supposed to attract the biggest possible audience. Diversified awareness campaign will be monitored and revised on ongoing basis in order to reach as many recipients as possible, which will be achieved through cooperation with media and partners, quizzes and competitions with prizes, Internet, promotional and advertising activities and social networking websites. This action will be intensified during The 11.Olsztyn Days of Science and Art (September 25-27) and the Olsztyn Autumn Agriculture Fair in September 2013. The highlight of the events will be the Researchers’ Night in 3 main locations in Olsztyn (university campus, Olsztyn Planetarium and Astronomical Observatory, Old Town). The main programme entitled DARK SIDE is accompanied by dozens of accompanying events. The project is prepared and conducted by the University of Warmia and Mazury and its partners.""
