PreciSen · PreciSen, the next generation of position sensing technology
Encoder Manufacturers are developing and selling highly specialized products for applications in specific industries, which limits their economy of scale. New applications need utmost challenging features, which can't be implemented with the State-Of-the-Art (SOA) encoder technologies. Encoder producers and encoder-user-OEMs are facing difficulties to answer the market needs and to develop their next generation of products.By applying a new paradigm in the encoder industry, our product, PreciSen will be the only multi-dimensional, absolute, high-speed, industrial position sensor technology on the market, offering not only lower-cost, higher-performance replacement of many of the existing encoder sensors, but also solutions for new market needs, which are beyond the scope of SOA encoders. Due to its generic nature it provides one-fit-all solutions for encoder manufacturers and encoder user OEMs worldwide and can be produced in much larger quantities than the competing products. PreciSen currently is at TRL-7 level.Targeted users are encoder providers and original equipment manufacturers, who need innovative position sensing solutions for their next generation of products. The Key Market Application will be the PreciSen encoder module. The overall market (TAM) is global (€6,200M), the initial market segment is Europe, with expansion potential to the whole world. In Phase 1 focus will be on a technical viability check covering the feasibility of the current-mode operation of the novel pixel array, the obtainable signal-to-noise ratio, the power consumption and chip area budget of the high-speed vector processing, predictor stage and post-processing; market survey to support our market concept and conducting an FTO analysis. Project plan of Phase 2 and a detailed business plan will also be elaborated. The TRL-9 level product is being planned to be elaborated in the frame of Phase 2, which estimated cost is €1,900,000.
