Global demand for batteries is increasing, driven largely by the imperative to reduce climate change through the electrification of mobility and the broader energy transition. Battery sales have doubled every 2-3 years over the past three decades. By 2030, sales are projected to hit 5.5-8 TWh and a value exceeding €550 billion. Current ineffective battery quality-testing is expensive, slow, inaccurate and allow only to test a small portion of production. This results in significant waste and economic loses. An average gigafactory in Europe producing up to 30% of battery scrap translates into an estimated €720 million in lost revenue annually. The inability to detect defects and predict degradation drive the need for advanced, scalable, and data-driven quality control solutions for all actor in the value chain, from manufacturing to recycling. CeLLife has developed Electrical Fingerprint Platform (EFP) technology, the world’s fastest and most accurate measurement technology for analysing, diagnosing, and grading new or used batteries at an industrial scale, regardless of battery chemistry, form factor, or type. By integrating our solution, manufacturers and recyclers can achieve significant cost savings, enhance production efficiency, ensure superior product quality and reduce up to 30% of scrap. Our prototypes have been successfully tested with world leading companies in the industry, demonstrating their effectiveness and reliability in real-world industrial settings (TRL 6). We target a lucrative market opportunity. Our TAM is estimated to reach €5.7 billion by 2030, considering the projected increase in Lithium-ion battery manufacturing and recycling capacity. CeLLife’s technology will have a huge impact on the battery industry by reducing waste, optimizing resources, and ensuring high-quality production and recycling, but also providing a substantial leap in the quality of commercially available batteries.
